The first part of this course will provide an overview of the different ways to hold title to real estate. Attendees will receive information on contracts for deeds & cohabitation agreements. The next part of the course will cover issues that can affect title to real estate, estate planning considerations and transfer on death deeds. Q&A will be last. Top 10 Things That RE Agents Need to Know About Working with Buyers and Sellers in a HOA (1.0 CE) Real estate agents deal with all kinds of properties in all different price points. There’s a good chance that a lot of these properties are part of a community association. How much do you know about community associations and how they operate? What you don’t know could hurt you – or your clients. Attendees hear from an attorney who specializes in representing community associations of all types on how to better represent buyers and sellers of properties in an association, including some unique characteristics of housing cooperatives. Service and Support Animals. (1.0 CE) This presentation will focus on how to handle the challenge of service and emotional support animals under the Federal Fair Housing Act and similar state laws. The first part of this course will discuss the definition of a handicap or disability and who is/is not protected. The next part of this course will focus on service animals versus emotional support animals and housing provider’s policies for these animals. This session will go into detail of what kind of information a housing provider can request from a person making an accommodation request, as well as the issue of doctor’s notes for sale. The course will conclude with restrictions of services animals, removing them from a property, and with time for Q&A. These courses have been approved by the MN Commissioner of Commerce for 1.0 hour of Real Estate Continuing Education Credits each.
