Course Description:
This comprehensive 2-hour course will equip real estate professionals with the knowledge and tools to actively promote fair housing practices. You'll explore the historical context of housing discrimination, including racial zoning, redlining, and the lasting impacts of segregation. Learn about key federal laws like the Civil Rights Act of 1866 and the Fair Housing Act of 1968, as well as state and local regulations. The course also covers current-day issues, including implicit bias, steering, appraisal bias, and controversial practices like pocket listings and love letters. Through case studies and practical examples, you'll gain insights on how to uphold ethical standards, ensure compliance with Fair Housing laws, and become a champion for equality in housing.
