When you sell a house, you should know what you are selling. Sadly, many agents don’t know what they are looking at, or what they should be looking for. In this course, we start with the building envelope and move on to cover the major systems and parts of a house: electrical, heating, a/c, plumbing, windows, doors, interiors walls, structural support, types of finishes, both interior and exterior, and how these parts function. We also examine how to spot things which are not functioning and “red flags†agents should look for when listing or selling a house.  Every agent should have a basic knowledge of construction and know how to physically inspect a house, make notes, observe red flags, and ask questions of the owner or a professional when required. In this course we’ll examine prevalent kinds of construction in use, and how to identify various types.

This course is has been approved by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce for 3 hours of real estate continuing education credits.
