Did you know that prior to the conclusion of the 2023 MN Legislative Session, not all homesteaders were allowed to receive ‘The Minnesota Homeowner's Homestead Credit Refund?’ Legislation just enacted in the 2023 legislative session has now added Homeowners who do not have Social Security Numbers, but instead have Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN) can now qualify for this important tax credit. This previous gap in our state law directly impacted first-generation immigrants, communities of color, and working-class homeowners. Join us at MAR’s Government Affairs Open Forum to discuss the economic importance of ITIN homebuyers in the real estate market and how purchasing a home is different for ITIN buyers. Guest speakers from Sunrise Bank and the Twin Cities Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP) will be there to educate members about critical resources to ITIN homebuyers and answer questions on the topic.
